MVGR NSS Unit Pays Tribute to Swami Vivekananda on National Youth Day
The NSS Unit of MVGR College of Engineering observed National Youth Day on 12 January 2026, commemorating the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, the great youth icon, philosopher, and visionary leader, in a dignified and meaningful manner.
As part of the observance, NSS volunteers offered floral tributes at the statue of Swami Vivekananda located on the college campus, paying homage to his timeless contributions and ideals that continue to inspire the youth of the nation.
The programme was graced by the esteemed presence of Prof. Y. M. C. Sekhar, Principal, Mr. N. Shanmukha Rao, NSS Programme Officer, along with faculty members and enthusiastic NSS volunteers. The gathering reflected collectively on the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, emphasizing the importance of self-discipline, service to society, leadership, character building, and nation-building.
As part of the National Youth Day celebrations, the NSS Unit also organized a week-long series of competitions based on the theme of National Youth Day. The events included Essay Writing, Youth Parliament, Poster Presentation, Photography, and Blog Writing competitions, providing a vibrant platform for students to express their creativity, ideas, and awareness on youth empowerment and social responsibility.
The celebrations concluded on an inspiring note, reinforcing the spirit of confidence, responsibility, leadership, and service to society, truly reflecting the vision and ideals of Swami Vivekananda. The event served as a motivating reminder for students to walk the path of purpose and commitment toward national development.
