A team of bright minds from MVGR College of Engineering achieved an impressive 3rd place at the prestigious AI Hackathon held at IIT Kharagpur from January 17th to 19th, 2025. The event saw participation from 80+ teams representing top-tier institutions, including several IITs and NITs.
The hackathon challenge focused on the theme:
"Sentiment Analysis Tool for Enhancing Customer Experience."
Participants were tasked with developing an intelligent system that could automatically analyze and classify customer reviews as positive, negative, or neutral. The broader aim was to assist businesses in extracting actionable insights from customer feedback to drive product and service improvements.
Team 25KTJAI N178435, led by N. V. K. A. Sri Varshini, designed a sophisticated Sentiment Analysis Tool that processed 280 customer reviews to uncover sentiment trends and product insights. Key findings from their analysis included:
The tool identified camera quality and value for money as areas needing improvement, while highlighting overall satisfaction and user-friendly design as strengths.
The team employed text mining techniques along with data visualization tools such as pie charts and bar graphs to display sentiment distribution and keyword frequency. Their solution enabled real-time interpretation of customer opinions, supporting data-driven business decisions.
Their achievement not only highlights MVGRβs academic excellence but also underscores the institutionβs commitment to nurturing innovation and practical skills in emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence.
