MVGRC (A) Organizes Five-Day Online FDP on Emerging Technologies in Chemical Engineering

The Department of Chemical Engineering, MVGR College of Engineering (Autonomous), Vizianagaram, successfully organized a five-day Online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Emerging Technologies in Chemical Engineering” from 05 January 2026 to 09 January 2026. The programme aimed to provide in-depth exposure to recent technological advancements, sustainable practices, and industry-oriented innovations in the field of Chemical Engineering, thereby strengthening the teaching, research, and professional capabilities of faculty members and industry participants.
The FDP commenced with an Inaugural Session addressed by Prof. Y. M. C. Sekhar, Principal, MVGR College of Engineering. In his address, he emphasized the critical role of chemical engineers in designing and developing efficient chemical processes to meet the evolving needs of society. He highlighted how chemical engineers translate scientific principles into practical technologies that support industrial growth, sustainability, and improved quality of life.

Conclusion
The FDP concluded with a valedictory address by Prof. Y. M. C. Sekhar, Principal, MVGR College of Engineering, who emphasized the responsibility of chemical engineers in developing innovative technologies for sustainable energy, food processing, and environmental protection.
Sri Sita Rama Raju, Director, MVGR College of Engineering, congratulated the organizing team for the successful conduct of the programme. The FDP Organizing Secretary, Dr. B. Sarva Rao, reported active participation of 95 faculty members and industry professionals from institutions including IIPE, NITs, universities, and leading industries, highlighting the achievement of the FDP objectives.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. B. V. Ramanaih. Dr. D. Venkata Padma, HOD of Chemical Engineering, along with senior faculty members, extended their continuous support throughout the programme, contributing significantly to the overall success of the FDP.
