Intra-College 24-Hour Sankalp Hackathon 2025: Fostering Innovation, Collaboration & Future-Ready Skills

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), in association with the Centre for Software Development Tools Training and supported by the Departments of Information Technology (IT) and Data Engineering (DE), successfully hosted the Intra-College 24-Hour Sankalp Hackathon on 20th–21st September 2025 at MVGR.

This flagship event aimed to nurture problem-solving abilities, teamwork, and real-world innovation among students, providing them with an authentic hackathon experience.

Participation Highlights

  • Total Registrations: 164 teams (724 students)
  • Shortlisted Teams: 52 (236 students)
  • Final Participation: 51 teams

The rigorous shortlisting was conducted by Mr. S. Santhosh Raju, Senior Software Engineer at Fluxon, ensuring the most motivated and innovative teams advanced to the 24-hour challenge.

Event Flow

The hackathon commenced at 1:00 PM on 20th September with an inaugural session and orientation, followed by a non-stop 24-hour coding sprint. Students collaborated on problem statements, engaged in overnight coding runs, and received guidance during mentor interactions.

The event concluded on 21st September with final project presentations, jury evaluations, and a valedictory ceremony with prize distribution and lunch.

Venue & Facilities

  • Coding Venue: CSE Computer Labs
  • Rest Areas: Separate classrooms for boys & girls
  • Support Infrastructure: High-speed Wi-Fi, 24/7 power backup, AV-equipped halls, and constant faculty supervision
  • Hospitality & Safety: Round-the-clock refreshments, meals, first-aid support, CCTV monitoring, and dedicated rest areas

The final demos were evaluated by an esteemed industry jury:

  3. Likhitha – Java Developer, Sails Software

Problem Statements

Curated by Mr. S. Santhosh Raju (Fluxon) and the jury experts, the challenges mirrored real-world industry use cases:

  1. Deceptive Subscriptions and Dark UX Patterns
  2. Multi-Agent AI for Smarter Requirement Gathering
  3. AI-Enabled Real-Time Detection of Harassment & Abusive Behavior

Winners

After 24 hours of intense coding, the following teams emerged victorious:

  • 🏆 Team 5 Bytes – Multi-Agent AI for Smarter Requirement Gathering
  • 🏆 Team RO-KO – AI-Enabled Real-Time Detection of Harassment and Abusive Behavior

Each winning team received a cash prize of ₹10,000/-.
