Services of PVG Raju Remembered on His 100th Birth centenary celebrations

A grand celebration was held on Monday to commemorate the birth centenary year of Pusapati Vijayarama Gajapathi Raju, the last crown prince of the Vizianagaram Samsthanam. The event was attended by a host of prominent leaders, ministers, and public representatives who gathered to honor the legacy of PVG Raju.
Union Minister for Civil Aviation, K. Rammohan Naidu, along with Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu, and ministers Kondapalli Srinivas, Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, K. Atchannaidu, and G. Sandhya Rani, were among the key figures present. MPs M. Sribharat, C.M. Ramesh, and the scion of Vizianagaram Samsthanam, P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju, as well as MLA P. Aditi Gajapathi Raju, also took part in the event.
The dignitaries paid tribute to PVG Raju's remarkable contributions to education and his philanthropic endeavors. They highlighted the enduring commitment of the Rajas of Vizianagaram Samsthanam to education, noting their belief that education is a powerful tool to eradicate poverty and dispel superstitions in society. The Rajas were instrumental in establishing schools and colleges, offering education and sustenance to underprivileged students. As a result of their efforts, the landscape of North Andhra Pradesh has been transformed, producing numerous scholars, academicians, and intellectuals from the MR Schools and colleges in the region.
The speakers emphasized that the Maharajas of Vizianagaram have been engaged in philanthropic activities for over 150 years, continuously supporting the education of the poor. The Rajas' selfless donations of their entire assets and properties have laid the foundation for the region's development.
The event also saw the release of a biography on the life of PVG Raju, with leaders, ministers, MPs, and other dignitaries participating in the book launch, further commemorating his legacy in Vizianagaram.
